Who am I?
I love learning about great companies and spend most of my free time on investing. It truly invigorates me when I learn something new or find a great investment opportunity.
I started this substack as I believe writing helps organize my thoughts and find holes in my investment ideas. Whether it be brand-new investors, or experienced ones looking for more ideas, my goal is to provide value.
1. Investor’s Odyssey?
Merriam-Webster defines odyssey as “an intellectual or spiritual wandering or quest.” There are two reasons I find this perfect for my blog:
One is what I hope to provide with these writings. I want to document my experience and evolution of knowledge in the aim of encouraging others and providing clarity. This will be a journal of my thoughts on investing, specific theses, and any other topics I wish had been out there for me. The type of posts won’t fall into one bucket, except they all tie back into investing.
The other reason is my mindset. I view investing as a constant pursuit of knowledge and bettering oneself. I am impassioned by the seemingly never ending void of books, opinions, and data to pore through and interpret. Maybe you’re seeking a behavioral edge or an analytical one, one thing remains true, you must never give up learning. This path is rarely straight and often can lead you down wrong turns, but the beauty is, you still learn something from it. Through these posts I can formulate my opinions, be challenged on them, and one day look back at how I have evolved.
2. This community
I want this to be a community where people are willing to share their questions, opinions and concerns, all in a civil and respectful way. We’re all just people looking to know a little more than we did the day before.
3. What to expect
As of now, everything will be free. If this grows large enough, I may monetize it, but I will ensure it provides sufficient value and is affordable.
The content will vary in topic and length. Posts can be detailed company reports, book reviews, investment concepts, and other investing related topics.
For deep dives, I will do my best to present the thesis on the company, but leave it up to you to make a final decision on whether to invest.
There isn’t a set schedule of when or how often I will post. I want the posts to be of high quality and inspired, I don’t want to produce low quality posts just to meet a set schedule.
